Description
Up for your consideration is a fully functional JOBO CPE 2 chemical warming tank and automatic drum roller/agitator with a 2840 Tank, 1 black opaque bottle for developer, and 2 white translucent bottles for fixer and hypo clearing agent, and 2 graduated cylinders. All made in the Federal Republic of Germany! As you can see in this video, the JOBO rotates the tank as it should in both slow and fast modes, and the thermostat turns on as well:

To test it, I let it spin the tank for 15 minutes on slow mode, then on high mode and there was no deviation in the speed during that time. I then filled it with cold water and turned it up and as indicated in the photos it was able to raise the temperature and sustain it there for several hours. Now, it took about an hour to raise it but this was a test, normally you’ll put in water at a temperature near where your chemicals need to be and then the JOBO will regulate them.
The Good:
Heating and rotation work as they should.
No leaks in the water holding tank.
No leaks in the bottles or graduated cylinders.
No leaks in the 2840processing tank.
The bad:
Originally had an additional black tank and two additional graduated cylinders, but not by the time I got it in the 90’s.
The fixer bottle has silver stains in it. Doesn’t affect chemistry though.
The red plastic trim for the tanks and graduated cylinders is missing. It disappeared when I moved back to the States, but you may be able to 3D print one.
2 of the 3 tabs that connect the chemical cup in the 2840 tank that allows it to be daylight safe-have snapped off, and the 3rd is weak. Fortunately, I have them included in an envelope and they can be glued back on, or you can epoxy the cup to the lid where the 3 tabs are supposed to be (do not epoxy all around the cup).
This thing has served me well over the years, but I haven’t used it in a while as I’ve decided to stick with the ease of black and white photography, so it’s time for it to find a new loving home.
Thanks for looking!
